Clinical Services

Clinical Services consist of counseling, speech and language therapy and occupational therapy as mandated by students’ IEPs. In order to help students develop skills to be successful in the classroom, clinicians work collaboratively with teaching teams and families. Clinicians tmaintain on-going communication with families to keep them informed about the work their child is doing. They are available to co develop home programs for families to support their child’s progress in school. Clinicians invite families to share their knowledge and understanding of their child’s strengths and needs.

Clinicians contribute to the culture of appreciation of the individuality of students as well as a focus on the student’s ability to work productively with groups. Within a nurturing and respectful environment clinicians strive to help students develop their potential and to take risks to learn, accepting “not knowing “ and learning as well as demonstrating what they do know. Along with in school skills, clinicians help students with life skills at every grade level. They encourage communication with a student’s community support professionals such as therapists and tutors.
