Your Lorge School Journey Starts Here
The Lorge School is a New York State Approved Non-Public School serving students with Learning Disabilities (LD), Emotional Disturbances (ED) or are classified as having Other Health Impairments (OHI). Most students are referred to our school by the Central Based Support Team (CBST) and each case is examined by our Admissions team to determine if the student's mandated services can be met and we are a good match according to age and ability. Â

In order to be considered for Admission the student must have the following:
1. Placement Recommendation for NYSED approved Non-Public School (funding).
2. Have an official Classification on IEP of either Learning Disabled (LD), Emotionally Disturbed (ED), or Other Health Impairments (OHI).
3. Meet the class criteria according to ratio, age and ability.
4. Have one or more of the following clinical services: Counseling, Occupational Therapy, and Speech and Language Pathology.
Admission Documents for Consideration
1. Most Current IEP
2. All relevant evaluations (i.e., Assistive Technology, Psycho-Educational, Speech and Language, Neuropsychological, Psychiatric Evaluations, & Social History).
Admissions Procedure:
1. Set up an enrollment meeting, school tour and class visit with an admissions representative.
2. Submit the complete Lorge School Application.
The Application can downloaded and uploaded in our Forms Tab located above.
3. Attend a CSE securement meeting to review the recommendations from the school.
4. The school will coordinate bus services in conjunction with the Office of Pupil Transportation.
