Overview

The Lorge School was chartered by the New York State Education Department close to sixty years ago to provide a special education for students with learning disabilities, emotional disturbances and other health impairments. We are a Non-Public School serving students between the ages of 5-21 years old.

Lorge is located in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan but serves students from every borough of New York City. The school intentionally limits capacity to 96 students in order to maintain its personal and supportive environment. We aspire to provide a blended approach of academic and therapeutic engagement, behavioral mentorship and LOVE, to help students discover the fascinating challenges of learning!
