Computer Technology:

At Lorge, the Computer Technology Program exists to support teaching and learning and facilitate efficient and effective administration.  Students enjoy access to the lab facilities which support learning via more specialized hardware and software.  These tools and resources support teaching and learning by enabling students to communicate, create, collaborate, disseminate, store and manage information in ways not otherwise possible.

Our staff and students are modern users of the latest devices and programs across a range of platforms: we understand how technology can help us and we understand when it is appropriate to draw upon it, we retain our ability to communciate directly with one another and to produce work and ideas that are not already in the public domain.

Technology is continuously evolving and here at The Lorge School, our teachers are highly encouraged to improve their knowledge and use of ICT in education. This is achieved through both internal and external professional learning.

Technology compliments learning but does not dictate how it occurs.  Computer Technology Program resources are intended to support the delivery of the curriculum for all students, as well as providing staff and students with access to and competency in the most up-to-date hardware and software.

The Computer Technology Program lab displays technology, digital learning resources and networked technology such as online learning environments and devices.  Students have access to PCs, iPads, and laptops which can be used in a dedicated computer lab or in any other classroom.  These tools and resources support teaching and learning by enabling users to communicate, create, collaborate, disseminate, store and manage information in ways not otherwise possible.
